Here the steps I prepared before I connect the iCom on my F or G series.Ģ.

I bought the iCom Next A 81 31 2 360 883.īuy the iCom Next for your F series cars. I never use ISTA-D with eNet cable to program F or G series.Īlways used BMW ICOM or ICOM Next for BMW to program with ISTA-D over my home network, and never have any problem. For F10 that is – do no open/close driver’s door during review: It will also write to you first what to do. When executing TAL, esys will take care of ignition, so it won’t turn off. Enet is not bad for work with F and G series but if you want only click start button in Ista and wait for finish- Icom is for you. There was few threads about killing a car with Icom and programming in Ista- so it is possible.

Have 2 original Icom- both faulty and repaired in BMW. Try to flash some difficult nbt or kombi with icom- always problem and enet helps me a lot with it. I don’t know speed of this two- for me programming nbt evo with 35 minutes is fine with enet. Ignition won’t turn off when programming. Why you write that it will be slow? Its same channels of communication like in ICOM. Even with Icom you can brick car it you don’t know what are you doing. I always program all ecus only with ENET cable– car never died and all work always done. It is OK for even the most well armed DIY'er to admit defeat against such a worthy adversary as the E70.BMW shuts down the ignition after a while so how can we prevent the car to shut down the ignition if you are programming experience: So yes, it is possible that it is one of those grounds, albeit not likely. BMW uses grounding strips that ground multiple systems in the same location.

I believe the EKP will command the fuel pump to run full time if it is not receiving signal from the DME. The fuel pump is controlled by the EKP module which receives data from the DME on a bus line. I really hate to do it but I may have to send her to the dealer. Will a grounding issue in this area affect everything else like it is? The only thing I haven't checked yet was the fuel pump connections/grounding, the fuel pump runs non stop with the ignition on. I have checked the ground points everything is tight nothing loose, tested all the connections on the positive battery terminal to rear and front fuse boxes nothing discolored or shorted and gets power. I agree with you just pinpointing the culprit is becoming a pain. Yeah I have went over all the fuses in the trunk and under dash multiple times, pulled every fuse, checked all fuses with multi meter making sure there was voltage, replaced relay 30G (located in trunk, it was the one that was getting super hot).Īre they any relay locations I am missing? I'm stumped, I have never dealt with something like this before. I was told possible the gear selector was causing the issue, so replaced it but still the same thing. Relay 30G was extremely hot so I replaced it but still gets very hot.Īlso another odd thing is, with the ignition on the transmission gear selector and P light in the dash light flickers on and off for awhile then stay on for a few seconds and starts flickering again. I tested the leveling system with ISTA D and it works. Now here is the odd thing, fuel pump when ignition is on runs nonstop, parking brake works just fine it engages and disengages. I tried registering the new battery with ISTA D but it cannot communicate with DME. I then ordered BMW ISTA D and P, after it went through its test it came up with communication problems with power supply issues to DME, transmission, leveling system, parking brake, transfer case, fuel pump. It sounded like the starter solenoid try to click, so I replaced the starter. I figured with all the issues it had to be a battery and since its original thought it would be a good idea (it was little over half charged after I took it in for testing), went to start and nothing again. After starting it up from 5 days sitting it was fine, then she drove to her appointment shut it off but when she came back out nothing, wouldn't start and malfunctions galore! (transmission, leveling system, transfer case, DSC, 4x4, fuel pump.). It was working great aside from occasional cold start which took a couple secs to fire up. So I figured I give this one a try as a last resort. Hey guys, I tried posting on other boards with no success.
